Alginate mask - what is it, the effect on the skin

Initially, the alginate mask was formed as a result of the accidental discovery of a side effect during the extraction of iodine from seaweed, namely, experiments on this part. Alginate became a by-product of such actions, which, as it turned out, was absolutely safe for human health and still has a rejuvenating effect.

But first, alginates began to be used in medicine to create drugs for stomach pain and heartburn, and then the food industry joined in, creating thickeners or stabilizers based on them. Then cosmetologists successfully entered the business.

Such a mask is a special powder from which that very effective composition is prepared for application to the face. Today, the powder contains not only algae, but also such active substances as hyaluronic acid, plant extracts, vitamins, oils, etc.

When water is added, the mass turns into a gel-like one, due to which it is convenient to apply it on the skin. Release such varieties:

  1. Collagenic - in addition to alginate, these masks contain collagen molecules and other substances that activate the regeneration of connective tissue fibers;
  2. Fortified - added vitamins to the alginate, making the masks suitable for eliminating the effects of photoaging and reducing pigmentation;
  3. Herbal - contain plant extracts (chamomile extract, aloe extract, etc.) and are universal in solving a variety of skin problems;
  4. Chitosan - suitable for the most dry skin, as they have enhanced moisturizing properties, as well as after improper cosmetic care.

In general, the effect of alginate masks on the skin is about the same, and it looks like this:

  1. The powerful drainage, moistening and tightening effect. The balanced composition has a regenerating, nourishing and rejuvenating effect, while the concentration of salts provides anti-edema effect and mild detox;
  2. Purifying effect. The swollen granules are covered with micropores, which contributes to the absorption of various substances from the surface and from the thickness of the skin;
  3. Normalization of water metabolism, as a result of which dry skin is moistened, oily skin is dried, and the contents of existing comedones are dissolved and removed;
  4. Activation of the synthesis of its own hyaluronic acid, as a result of which the lifting is long-term, and is largely supported by the organism itself;
  5. Stimulation of cellular respiration, which makes the face fresher and more rested.

Additional active ingredients in the mask allow you to achieve other effects - sedative, anti-inflammatory, anti-couperose, lightening action. For each problem, a special alginate mask can be found that will definitely help.

Reviews of beauticians and women

Beauticians and their clients speak of this procedure in a very positive way:

My experience in cosmetology is almost 7 years. I believe that for the professional sphere, alginate mixtures are simply a find and good support in general, because their effect is noticeable immediately, and customers do not need to prove anything - they see everything themselves.
I got used to doing such masks to my clients immediately after mesotherapy. Very refreshing, moisturizing, immediately tightens. No one has yet left me disappointed.
At first, I made such a mask at the beautician and just fell in love with her - the sensations are just awesome. Now I do it a couple of times a week on my own, the main thing is to buy the right product. Fakes, unfortunately, enough today. But you can find.
I bought an alginate mask from the catalog, just try it. But in the end I got hooked on them!
I don’t know, I didn’t notice a special effect, although I seemed to be doing everything right. Or maybe my skin is just still in a good condition itself, so miracles happened to it. So while I postpone alginate masks for the future, it may also come in handy. The face was nice.
