Vaccination schedule for children

In order not to get entangled in vaccinations and to have a clear idea of the intended, it is useful to keep your own vaccination schedule, which is based on approved by the Ministry of Health.

You should not hope for a card in the clinic, it can be lost, not everything is structured and understandable to everyone in it. It is convenient to check the calendar before any trip or an important event, so that it does not happen that next week after vaccination, a trip to the southern countries is scheduled.

What is a vaccination and what is it for?

Vaccination is the introduction of a vaccine into the body of a person with a specific frequency. This procedure is done for the formation of antibodies, that is, the formation of immunity to a particular disease. Immunity to the disease means either the complete protection of the body against it, or its passage in the most mild form in the event of infection.

The composition for injection into the blood during vaccination is called a vaccine. The name gave the Latin word vacca - cow. This is due to the fact that the first vaccination against smallpox was made on the basis of cow scabs, a sick smallpox.

Then it saved a lot of lives. And it is thanks to the vaccine that the smallpox epidemic can be forgotten, and the cases of the disease are rare. Save vaccinations of life to this day. Many fatal or serious diseases have been almost or completely defeated by preventive vaccination.

Now vaccines are made not only on the basis of live viruses, they have learned to make the so-called non-living vaccines.

In order to create living materials, bacteriological material infected with a virus is taken as a basis and, by microbiological manipulation, makes it safe, weakened. As an alternative live vaccine - divergent.

It consists of a related dangerous strain of the virus, but which itself does not cause the disease. Thus, the virus will come into contact, but will not cause harm.

The advantages of a live vaccine are that it is more effective and requires less harmful substances in the composition for preservation. The downside is that a weakened body can be badly affected, a person can become infected or get negative consequences of the disease.

That is why it is important to bring a healthy person to vaccination.

Non-vaccine vaccine is characterized by the complete absence of living organisms in the composition. Bacteriological cultures chemically or physically deprive biological activity, but retain their properties that will cause the appearance of antibodies.

Such vaccines are more expensive to manufacture. But their main advantage is that they are safer and the post-vaccination period is easier. For those who are prone to allergic reactions, this is an important point. It is also easier to store because it does not need to remain viable.

Free live vaccines are usually free, while non-living vaccines are shipped from Europe and can be purchased independently at private clinics.

The main part of the vaccine in the human body on schedule should enter in the first three years of his life. But there are those that are made in adulthood to maintain the effect.

Rights and duties of parents

Rights and obligations are governed by federal law, issued in 1998. According to which, regarding vaccinations, parents have the following rights:

  1. Free inspection before vaccination;
  2. Free vaccine if available;
  3. Assistance needed in case of vaccine complications;
  4. The right to write a waiver of vaccinations, while taking all the responsibility for themselves;
  5. The right to demand to take the child to preschool and school institutions without vaccinations in a general manner, except during the quarantine period.

The state is for the health of its citizens and is trying to adequately provide clinics with vaccines. There are practically no problems with this; those who want to take root do it without any problems.

Regarding failures, now there are more and more movements against vaccinations that confuse parents. They justify this refusal by saying that vaccinations do more harm than good, that they harm the immune system and die of them.

Statistics show the opposite, vaccinations reduce the number of cases, and there are not so many negative cases. And most of the complications and deaths - this is a dishonest inspection and production of a vaccine for a child who is not prepared for it.

Parents, in turn, are obliged to monitor the state of the child during the pre-and post-vaccination periods. To measure his temperature, not to go to public places in the period of epidemics, monitor the symptoms and promptly take the child for examination to all specialists. Vaccination will only benefit the healthy and strong body.

The schedule of vaccinations in Ukraine looks like this.

It was approved in 2015, but it is relevant in 2017.

Vaccine notes for children

It is important that the child is completely healthy at the time of vaccination. In the following cases, it is better to postpone it:

  • birth injury;
  • problems related to neurology;
  • insufficient weight;
  • disability;
  • postponed viral and infectious diseases;
  • stress in life.

Usually, the doctor himself will establish this cause, but parents should be alert. And if at least one of the moments is present in the history of the child, then it is worth taking seriously the decision to inoculate.

Preparation is important, from the parents it looks like this:

  1. Check the temperature during the day before vaccination;
  2. Full sleep and nutrition;
  3. Rejection of possible allergens;
  4. With a tendency to allergies, take 3 days before Fenistil 3 times a day, 10 drops.
  5. Control of the skin for allergic reactions;
  6. Blood test.

Voluntary vaccination carries the moment that part of the responsibility for deciding to do it lies with the parents.

If a vaccination is given during a controversial period, the consequences can be dire and it is much more important to postpone the vaccination, even if it is just another one, than to risk it. Most horrible stories about vaccinations are born from such wrong decisions of parents and unscrupulous medical staff.

What will happen if the vaccination schedule is not followed?

This can create social problems. A person without appropriate vaccinations may not be allowed abroad and not accepted in preschool, school, and in adulthood and at work.

A child, hitting a kindergarten, will be more vulnerable, because the schedule tried to make so that the main immunity was already formed to the kindergarten.

Vaccination may lose its effectiveness. This usually refers to a course that has already begun; you may need an analysis for the appearance of antibodies. And if he shows that they have not appeared in the required quantity, then it will be necessary to begin the scheme from the beginning.

If you do not comply with the unquestioning schedule, it will be necessary to make it individually, as these schemes are based on research. It is important to consider whether the first vaccination or revaccination was missed, which is done on average a year and a half after the first vaccination course.

Consider cases if you missed vaccinations, put on the first month of life, that is, BCG and Hepatitis B. If for some reason the first from Hepatitis B was not done on time, you can do it at any time.

But in the future it will be impossible to do them when it pleases. They will need to try to do further on the scheme, but with a shift. Worry about efficiency is only if more than a year has passed. And in the case of the third vaccination more than one and a half years.

With regards to BCG, without having made it in the maternity hospital, being in a sterile room, it cannot be done earlier than at 4 months of life, and only after the Mantoux test. Since there could already be contact with the infected.

If an important vaccination is missed for up to a year, which is done according to a schedule of 3 months from whooping cough, tetanus and diphtheria, then up to 4 years you can simply start performing on any day and further according to the scheme, but with a shift. After 4 years of age, the introduction of live vaccines is prohibited.

If the schedule was broken after the first vaccination for more than six months, you may have to resort to the analysis for the appearance of antibodies. But in fact it is very rare who started DPT again. The exact answer to this question will be given by the immunologist by the doctor on the basis of the anamnesis.

If poliomyelitis was not done in 4-5 months, then this vaccination is simply passed and made 2 times instead of three for the first time. If you have never done before 6 years, then they do it only in 6 years. A new polio vaccination scheme is not started. It is only important that up to two years the child has 4 injections with a shot or he received the vaccine 5 times in drops.

According to the schedule, it is necessary to take root in the year against measles, rubella, and parotiditis. If this was not done a year or the date of revaccination is shifted, then it is only important to observe simultaneity and try to do it before visiting educational institutions. If the vaccine is missed, put to girls of childbearing age, it can be done at any time when the girl is healthy, except for the state of pregnancy.

Sometimes the schedule is disturbed due to a medical disqualification, when the child is not ready for vaccination. There is no need to hurry here when the child is in a state - he will receive his vaccination. In this case, an individual schedule is drawn up for it, based on the tests submitted and the state of health.
