Preparation Charozetta: complete instructions for use, cost, reviews

Charozetta - German-made birth control pills. They differ in quality and reasonable price.

Release form, composition and pharmacological action

This drug is available in film-coated tablets. The tablets have a round shape, they are convex on both sides and with the inscription "KV / 2". As part of a dragee is:

  • 75 mcg of desogestrel as an active ingredient;
  • corn starch;
  • Povidone;
  • α-tocopherol;
  • stearic acid;
  • silica;
  • lactose monohydrate;
  • opadry OY-S-28833 as a film coating.

Charozetta is an oral contraceptive that is administered orally and contains the active ingredient desogestrel, which tends to inhibit ovulation and increase the production of cervical mucus, making it more viscous.

A characteristic feature of this substance is its rapid action - in the first cycle of the medication inhibition of ovulation is observed.
And ovulation occurs 17 days after the last dose of the drug (this is an average).

The amount of estradiol (the most active female hormone) decreases during the reception Charozetta to the level that usually happens in the body of a woman in the early follicular phase. But the effect of the drug on the lipid or carbohydrate balance is not observed.

The active ingredient is rapidly absorbed into the blood from the intestines and reaches the highest concentrations within 2 hours. And the drug is completely removed from the body within 60 hours in the composition of urine.

Indications for use of the drug Charozetta

The drug is recommended by gynecologists as an oral contraceptive for planning and preventing pregnancy, not only as a regular drug for all women, but also for those who have estrogenic side effects.

Since the composition of the drug includes only one active substance, Charozetta may be recommended for women who are allergic to other contraceptives, as well as for poor tolerance to any medications.

The main advantage of this contraceptive is that it can be used by women during lactation and breastfeeding, as well as in the postpartum period.

Instructions for use Charozetta tablets

Charozettu should take one dragee 1 time per day for 28 days without a break. Thus, the flow of the active substance into the body should be throughout the entire menstrual cycle.

If a woman has not taken any oral contraceptives before, then the drug can be started on the first day of menstruation, if the first pill was taken at 2-5 days of menstruation, then the first week should be protected by additional means, because there is a risk of pregnancy.

If a woman is previously protected by other means, each case should be considered separately, since there are some peculiarities.

If a combined hormonal oral contraceptive was used before, Charozettu should be taken immediately after the last dose of the previous medication.

If you have previously used drugs in the form of injections, mini-pills or implants, which contained only progestogen:

  • after pills - the transfer to the reception of Charozetta can be done on any day: after implants, immediately on the day of its removal;
  • after injections - on the day of the next injection.

In any case, after these three contraceptives and during the transition to Charozetta, additional protection is recommended using condoms or other contraceptives. If an abortion was performed in the first trimester, take the drug right away.

In that case, if for some reason the next admission was missed (a break is considered if there were more than 36 hours between taking the pills), then contraceptive efficacy decreases and the drug should be used according to a special scenario:

  • if the next pill was drunk in less than 12 hours, you should drink the next one as soon as an error was detected, and then switch to the usual regimen of medication;
  • if the drug is delayed for more than 12 hours, the first named scenario should be followed - the tablet immediately after the detection of the error and further according to the usual schedule. But during intercourse, additional contraception should be used to prevent unwanted pregnancy.
When the drug was missed immediately in the first week of use, and at that time there was unprotected sexual intercourse, then a version with a possible pregnancy should be considered.

A guide to use, as well as a detailed description of all possible errors and their solutions can be found in the guide to use, which, as usual, is stored in the package along with the preparation itself. If there are any personality traits, it is recommended that prior approval of the regimen of administration of the drug with the attending physician.

Use during pregnancy and after childbirth

Charozetta is one of the few oral contraceptives that can be used during breastfeeding and after childbirth. Since the body of a woman after labor is extremely sensitive, the hormonal levels are elevated, and pregnancy can occur very suddenly.

In order to prevent this, you should start using the contraceptive for at least 21 days after the birth or abortion.

If a woman had sexual intercourse immediately after childbirth or abortion, but was not protected, then you should first eliminate pregnancy and wait for menstruation before you start using this oral contraceptive.

During an assumed or existing pregnancy, the use of the drug is prohibited and, in principle, not necessary.
Due to the presence of a current progestogen in Charozetta, a woman may have serious side effects.

Contraindications, side effects, overdose

Charozetta's oral contraceptive has contraindications. If a woman has one of the following conditions, then the drug should not be used, because Charozetta contains a large amount of gestagen, which can lead to serious side effects:

  • suspected or established pregnancy;
  • venous thromboembolism;
  • the presence of severe liver disease or liver failure (currently or in history);
  • malignant tumors (detected or possible);
  • unspecified vaginal bleeding;
  • lactose intolerance or lactase deficiency;
  • hypersensitivity to the components of the drug (main substance or auxiliary).

In the presence of any of the above risk factors, the use of the drug is possible only if the benefit for a woman is exceeded, taking into account all possible risks.

If a patient has one of the conditions, the doctor should prescribe Charozetta only if the intended benefit is greater than the possible harm:

  • persistent hypertension;
  • thromboembolic disorders;
  • prolonged postoperative or immobilization associated with chronic disease;
  • the presence of malignant tumors in the liver;
  • development of chloasma.

In any case, the doctor is obliged to conduct an explanatory conversation with the patient, in which to tell about all the side effects and risks. If any negative effects occur, the drug should be stopped immediately.

With regard to side effects, clinical studies have found some side effects of the drug. The most frequent (more than 3%) are:

  • irregular bleeding;
  • skin rashes;
  • mood swings;
  • chest tenderness;
  • nausea;
  • weight gain.

As possible, but unlikely side effects indicate:

  • vaginal infections;
  • decreased libido;
  • migraine;
  • discomfort when wearing contact lenses;
  • nausea or vomiting;
  • hives;
  • failure in the menstrual cycle;
  • fatigue

With a history of venous and arterial thrombosis, thromboembolism, hormone-dependent tumors or chloasma, relapses are possible.

Special instructions and interaction with other medicines

Charozetta when combined with other drugs can lead to bleeding and reduce the effectiveness of the drug. There may also be a decrease in absorbability and efficacy of the drug when taking activated carbon.

To find out other side effects, you should carefully study the instructions for drugs that are taken additionally during the period of use of this contraceptive.

Before taking a contraceptive, a woman should be examined to identify all possible contraindications for taking the drug. If she has a violation of the menstrual cycle or hormonal background, you should first find out their cause and only after that take this drug.

Reviews

After childbirth, menstruation began after 1.5 months and the contraception issue became. The doctor prescribed two medications to choose from and one of them was Charozetta. I applied it for 28 days and at first I was afraid of side effects, which I learned from the thematic forum.

But of all these, I have only a violation of the menstrual cycle, which should be normalized within 2-3 months. Convenient medicine in terms of reception and without any special side effects.

Olga, 30 years old, Novorossiysk

This drug was prescribed to me by a gynecologist not only as a contraceptive, but also as a therapy, since I was diagnosed with adenomyosis. Charozetta is extremely convenient in terms of application, since the blister is numbered with the days of the week and it is difficult to forget / make mistakes.

I have been taking it for 1.5 years and from the side effects I have only observed a headache in the first few days of administration. Of all the contraceptives of this type - "Charozetta" the safest.
