Copper hair color: who fits and which paint to choose?

The rich copper color in the hair always stands out in the crowd. It looks very impressive on the hair of any length, whether they are smooth or curly. How to choose "your" image in a warm and bright shade of copper? Let's talk about it in our article.

Copper color palette

Let's start with the fact that under one name there is a real riot of tones that can be attributed to copper color. These are dark reddish copper, and a shade of ripe wheat playing with flares of fire, and rich red, and amber gamma, and many other tones, midtones and shades.

For women, this color opens up a wide range of fantasy. But do not immediately dye your hair in the first copper you like - for girls with different skin color and eyes, the same color can be both a success and a complete fiasco in choosing an image.

And you need to choose for yourself a suitable shade, guided by the rule of color types. Let's find out who will suit copper hair color.

The main shades of copper are as follows:

  1. Light copper, copper-gold or one of the shades of wheat. It can be safely used for girls with peach or pale pink skin. But eye color does not play a role in this case: light copper is good both for blue-eyed and brown-eyed young ladies. It is worth avoiding it only for those girls whose skin has a dark olive or earthy shade and the most fair-skinned one - on them wheat with reflections of copper will look faded.
  2. Copper-brown hair looks natural, because it is a natural color for the spring color type. And it will suit light-skinned girls with green, gray and blue eyes. This shade is less prominent in the palette, but it is also capable of imparting a “spark” to its owner.
  3. Pure copper, too, deserves close attention. The classic color of copper is suitable for girls with a contrasting appearance: bright eyes, lips, dark-skinned or, on the contrary, very fair skin.
  4. Red copper and copper-red hue in the hair look advantageous on the winter color type: for girls with fair skin and brown eyes or dark-skinned light-eyed young ladies, these colors will become a piquant detail of the image.
  5. Dark copper, close to shades of chestnut or coffee, is also good on a winter color type, and it is not at all necessary that the hair be completely dark copper or copper-chestnut. Much more interesting will be individual strands, glittering copper color.

But who exactly should not experiment with copper shades, so it is too light-skinned girls with transparent gray eyes - on the background of hair the rest of the appearance can be very smeared and fade. Another caveat: if you have a spider vein or redness on your skin, it is better to give up copper tones - they will attract too much attention and emphasize redness on the face.

The easiest way to achieve a beautiful copper color is, of course, staining with resistant paints on a chemical basis. Since copper shades are in trend, many cosmetic companies offer their clients a large selection of colors in a copper scale.

Features of dyeing hair in copper color

If you want to experiment with copper color, there are three options for how this can be done:

  1. To begin with, try to paint not with a persistent dye, but with a coloring shampoo, tonic or mousse. In the assortment of many well-known brands there are similar unstable colors that will not give too bright a shade, but will allow you to get a general idea of how this tone will look on you. If you have blond or brown hair, tonic can completely replace resistant paint.
  2. There are also natural dyes with shades of copper. The most popular of them are henna and basma. In its pure form or mixed in different proportions, they will help to implement almost all shades of copper.
  3. Professional painting in the cabin - this is perhaps the best way to choose "your" color from the copper range. A professional hairdresser can not only suggest what to choose, but also mix a few tones of paint to get the perfect result.

Copper shades are washed off the hair faster than others. If you want to maintain the brightness of the color, after dyeing it is worth getting a shampoo for red hair, do not neglect the lamination and moisturizing of the hair.

Copper badly falls on unhealthy hair and on the washed off paint. Before dyeing in these tones, it is better to cut the split ends and slightly improve the hair.

The peculiarity of dyeing in copper color can also be called the need to lighten the hair to obtain certain shades. However, brunettes will find it much more interesting to try copper on themselves in the form of partial dyeing in one of the following ways:

  1. For hair with a warm shade, you can try to make a copper ombre, going from dark chocolate roots to shades of golden wheat or red copper.
  2. Another technique, simply created for copper glare - Venetian highlighting. This method allows staining only a few strands of intense copper to achieve a lively play of shades on the hair. A company of copper tone in it will be less "fiery", but very warm honey, caramel or brandy.
  3. Specific coloring in the tiger eye technique is included in the fashion. If you have seen this stone, you will surely remember the beautiful transition from rich amber-copper to almost black and back to light copper. This is the option that stylists suggest to try brunettes.

If you are not afraid of staining at home, but you still cannot decide on permanent paint, try one of the popular staining methods.

How to get copper hair color at home

The love of copper hair color is far from today. And our grandmothers knew several ways how to paint curls in copper colors with improvised means. All of them have one significant advantage: a completely natural basis will allow not only to achieve the desired tone of hair, but will take care of them in the process of coloring.

  1. The brightest tone of copper can be obtained using pure henna, without impurities. Pour boiling water over a bag of henna to a slurry state, add, as it cools a little, one yolk, 1-2 tablespoons of oil (olive, burdock or other cosmetic) and a couple of spoons of kefir. Apply gruel to the entire length of the hair along the strands and put on a hat or a cellophane cap. Keep your hair warm and after half an hour, rinse the mixture with warm water.
  2. If you mix henna and basma 50/50, you get a dark copper tone. Coloring can be carried out as in the previous version. Changing the proportions of Basma in the direction of decreasing, get a lighter tone.
  3. Another way to dye hair in dark copper at home is to use henna and strong tea or natural coffee. Protomite a glass of tea brewing or brewed strong coffee in a water bath for 10 minutes, strain and mix with dry henna (1 packet), bring to a uniform consistency and apply to hair. Roll the strands into a cap for 60 minutes and rinse with water.
  4. Our ancestors dyed strands in gold and copper using onion peel: pour 50 grams of onion peel with a glass of boiled water, boil for 20 minutes, cool and apply over the entire length of hair. For an hour, remove the hair under cellophane, and then rinse with water. You need to repeat the procedure every day, since the pigment from onion peel accumulates in the hair gradually.
