How to cook Caesar with shrimp at home

Initially, this salad was made from what the chef turned out to be at hand: a pair of lettuce leaves, slices of dry bread and cheese. There was no meat or seafood in it, and the dish offered a terrific taste to the dish.

Later, Caesar's variations appeared with a large list of ingredients, such as, for example, shrimps. But even for these options, dressing is important, so it is worth spending some time on cooking it, and not filling the salad with store mayonnaise, because preparing other ingredients will take a minimum of time.

Simple classic recipe

Caesar with shrimps is an exotic and at the same time simple treat that will be appropriate on a festive table, a romantic dinner or in the daily menu. The highlight of this salad is in its dressing, which can be called universal for all variations on the theme of Caesar.

For salad and dressing need such products:

  • 250 g shrimp;
  • 150 g Iceberg lettuce;
  • 200 g of small cherry tomatoes;
  • 50 g of Permesan cheese chips;
  • 50 g white bread croutons;
  • 3 boiled egg yolks;
  • 50 ml of olive oil;
  • 30 ml of lemon juice;
  • 5 g sugar;
  • 3 g of black ground pepper;
  • 40 g anchovy fillets (3-4 fish);
  • 6 grams of garlic;
  • 10 g sweet mustard.

Since this dish is not prepared for future use, but immediately before use, it is necessary to take into account that it will take about 40 minutes to prepare it.

In every 100 grams of servings of this salad will be on average about 174.3 kilocalories.

Cooking method:

  1. Since it takes some time for all products included in the filling to be able to make friends with each other, then it is necessary to start the preparation with it. Put sweet mustard, anchovy fillets, boiled yolks, sugar, garlic and black pepper into the bowl of the blender. Then pour olive oil and lemon juice over them. All kill until smooth. By the way, refueling can be perfectly stored in the refrigerator up to 12 hours;
  2. Now you need to cook shrimp. Fresh, they can boil or use boiled-frozen in the glaze, which is enough just to immerse in hot water and forget about them before it is completely cooled. Cooked shrimp to clear the shells, of course, you can leave a few pieces in their original form for registration of a spectacular presentation;
  3. The second ingredient that needs to be given sufficient attention is croutons or white bread croutons. You can simply cut into cubes the flesh of the loaf and dry it in the oven, and then you can additionally roll them in a mixture of olive oil and spicy (for example, olive) herbs;
  4. When all the ingredients are prepared, you can begin to assemble the salad. On the dish, tear the leaves of the Iceberg, then it is beautiful to put the halves of cherry tomatoes and shrimps on it, between them - a few spoons of dressing, sprinkle with cheese chips and decorate with croutons. Salad is ready to serve.

Caesar salad with shrimps, chicken and crackers

Caesar's variant with shrimps and chicken breast will appeal to lovers of easy-to-cook, but very nutritious food. In this variant, another dressing will be used, which is also no less tasty than the previous one.

To prepare this filling Caesar with shrimps and chicken, you need to take:

  • 300 g shrimp;
  • 200 grams of chicken meat without bones and skin;
  • 250 g cherry tomatoes;
  • 200 g of white loaf pulp;
  • 5 hard-boiled quail eggs;
  • 50 g Parmesan cheese;
  • 300 g Romen lettuce;
  • 30 ml of lemon juice;
  • 10 g of honey;
  • 2 chicken eggs;
  • 10 g of mustard;
  • 6 grams of garlic;
  • 60 g of olive oil;
  • salt and spices to taste.

Salad cooking time will be within 60 minutes.

Step-by-step salad recipe:

  1. For dressing in the bowl of a blender, mix honey, lemon juice, mustard, a teaspoon of olive oil, garlic, chicken eggs. All diligently whip until a homogeneous state of the mixture;
  2. Pulp long loaf cut into cubes and fry in vegetable (olive oil) with spices (Provencal herbs). Then take out and dry on a paper towel;
  3. Chicken meat (breast or ham) cut into thin slices and fry until golden brown, then cut into small pieces or disassembled into fibers;
  4. Boil and clean the shrimp from the shells and all the excess;
  5. Head out lettuce into leaves, which are washed, dried and broken into small pieces. This way of "slicing" will help save more vitamins;
  6. Washed cherry tomatoes and shelled quail eggs cut into quarters;
  7. Put a torn salad on a plate, chicken meat on it, cherry tomatoes, quail eggs on top. Pour the prepared dressing, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, and before serving, lay out the croutons so that they do not have time to soften.

The tricks of Caesar cooking at home

To prepare the most delicious dressing for this salad with shrimps (as well as for its other variants), it is necessary to insist on olive oil on garlic for about five days.

With a catastrophic shortage of time, you can reduce this time to several hours, or simply fry the cloves of garlic cut in half in oil, and then remove them from it. A dish for serving salad can also be smeared with garlic.

The more moisture will be contained in lettuce leaves, the more crispy they will be, therefore, experienced chefs recommend holding them for about 60 minutes in cold water with ice cubes.

Varieties of lettuce, which is used to prepare this dish Iceberg and Romain. And if the salad is not at hand, it can be replaced with leaves of Beijing cabbage.

The traditional cheese used in the preparation of this salad has become Parmesan, but if it is not there, you can take Beaufort, Cheddar or Russian, familiar to many.

It is not worth buying for Caesar frozen peeled shrimps, because in the thawed form, as a rule, they lack any taste, they just become bland. It is better to spend a little time cooking this seafood, but to get an amazingly tasty result.
