Movalis Injections: instructions for use, analogues of drugs, reviews

There are several forms of release of the drug "Movalis". One of them is a solution in capsules for intramuscular administration. This drug has a clear, yellow-green color and comes in colorless 1.5 ml glass ampoules.

Movalis shots: composition, pharmacological action

One vial of Movalis solution contains 15 mg of the main active ingredient, meloxicam. Also there are a number of auxiliary components:

  • sodium hydroxide and chloride;
  • meglumine;
  • injection water;
  • glycofurol;
  • Poloxamer 188 (Pluronic F68);
  • glycine.
The essence of the pharmacological action - the removal of inflammation, heat and pain. Movalis in injections is almost completely absorbed by the body, therefore, in the case of switching to pills, it is not necessary to change the dosage.

The substance will be excreted in feces and urine, but in the form of unnecessary organic compounds. In the original form, less than 5% of the previously entered volume is eliminated.

Indications and contraindications

The main indication for the use of Movalis pricks is the initial stage of overcoming pain, as well as the need for short-term symptomatic therapy for:

  • rheumatoid arthritis;
  • osteoarthrosis;
  • ankylosing spondylitis.

Among the contraindications to the use of this drug are the following:

  1. Excessive sensitivity to the components of the solution, or intolerance to one or more of them;
  2. The presence of symptoms of bronchial asthma, the presence of nasal polyps, the occurrence of angioedema or urticaria when using non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs;
  3. A recent or acute gastric ulcer and perforation of the stomach;
  4. Acute gastrointestinal and recent cerebrovascular bleeding;
  5. Diagnosed blood clotting disorders;
  6. Perforation of the duodenum;
  7. Exacerbation of Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis;
  8. The presence of severe hepatic or renal failure;
  9. Progressive kidney disease;
  10. Severe and uncontrollable heart failure;
  11. Pregnancy and lactation;
  12. Treatment of perioperative pain syndrome during coronary artery bypass surgery;
  13. Age less than 18 years.

In addition, caution will be required when:

  • history of gastrointestinal diseases;
  • cerebrovascular diseases;
  • congestive heart failure;
  • old age;
  • CHD;
  • diabetes;
  • dyslipidemia / hyperlipidemia;
  • problems with peripheral arteries;
  • prolonged use of NSAIDs;
  • smoking and excessive use of alcoholic beverages.

When conducting concomitant therapy with the use of:

  • anticoagulants;
  • antiplatelet agents;
  • SSRIs;
  • oral GCS.

Instructions for use injections intramuscularly

Use of the drug "Movalis" for intramuscular injection is desirable only in the first two or three days of therapy. Further medicines are used, intended for oral administration.

The size of the recommended dose is determined by the strength of the pain and the severity of the inflammation.

Injection (deep, intramuscular) is carried out once a day and can not contain more than 15 mg of the drug (for patients suffering from renal failure - not more than 7.5 mg).

Given the possible incompatibility of the components, Movalis is not recommended to be mixed with other medicinal solutions in order to make one general injection. The drug is strictly forbidden to enter:

  • intravenously;
  • rectally;
  • inside with food, water or other liquid.

Use of the drug during pregnancy and lactation

The drug should not be used during pregnancy. The inhibition of GHG synthesis can negatively affect the state and further development of the child. Such an injection can greatly increase the risk:

  • spontaneous abortion;
  • the appearance of fetal heart defects;
  • development of gastroschisis;
  • premature closure of the ductus arteriosus and pulmonary hypertension (when used in the last trimester);
  • the appearance of kidney dysfunction, which will lead to renal failure and reduce the volume of amniotic fluid (when used in the last trimester).

In percentage terms, the danger increases with increasing dosage and duration of use of the substance.

For mothers, this therapy is fraught with too long bleeding during childbirth and a decrease in uterine contractility, which makes delivery too long.

The appearance of this effect is possible even in the case of receiving small doses of "Movalis". Due to the possibility of penetration of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs into breast milk, the use of the drug during the lactation period is not recommended.

Side Effects and Overdose

Side effects of the drug may affect the performance of the following systems.

Hematopoiesis:

  • changes in the number of blood cells;

Of the common phenomena can be noted only painful and swelling at the injection site.

There is little information about the symptoms typical for overdose cases. Most likely, it will manifest itself in:

  • disturbances of consciousness;
  • sleepiness;
  • nausea and vomiting;
  • epigastric pain;
  • Arrester;
  • gastrointestinal bleeding;
  • blood pressure jumps;
  • respiratory arrest;
  • asystole.

Treatment in this case is symptomatic, since there is no antidote for Movalis.

Drug interactions, special instructions

In combination with other drugs, Movalis injections can give an undesirable result or enhance the possible side effects of the drug:

  • with GHG synthesis inhibitors (including HA and salicylates): increased risk of peptic ulcer and gastrointestinal bleeding;
  • with SSRIs: increased risk of gastrointestinal bleeding;
  • with lithium preparations: excessive concentration of lithium in the blood;
  • with methotrexate: abnormalities in the number of blood cells and renal pathologies (strict control is required, after three days of combined administration, methotrexate becomes extremely toxic);
  • with diuretics: the development of renal failure on the background of dehydration.

In addition, care should be taken when combining injections:

  • with antihypertensive drugs (they lose their effectiveness);
  • with substances inhibiting CYP2C9 and / or CYP3A4;
  • with hypoglycemic agents (intended for internal administration).

Finally, women should remember that because of "Movalis", intrauterine contraceptive devices may lose their effectiveness.

From special instructions, the following can be noted:

  1. Patients suffering from diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and cardiovascular pathologies should be monitored continuously for the entire therapeutic course;
  2. It is necessary to monitor changes in the indicators of liver function (usually they are minor and transient, but with the opposite picture, the use of injections should be canceled);
  3. Special attention is required to adverse events from the skin and mucous tissues, as well as to all manifestations of hypersensitivity to the drug;
  4. It is recommended to carefully monitor patients with impaired renal function and to maintain their hydration at the required level;
  5. The drug is undesirable to use for women who have difficulty conceiving;
  6. It should be borne in mind that while driving motor vehicles, dizziness, drowsiness and other disorders of the central nervous system may develop.

Reviews on the use of injections

Many patients tried the Movalis injection solution on themselves and left a wide variety of reviews about it:

For a long time already I had a deforming arthrosis and synovitis for the complete set. Since then, I regularly buy Movalis packaging (3 ampoules) regularly and put injections twice a year. It helps me.

Inga, 42, Vladivostok

Very good painkiller, but not for everyone. My mother and I, for example, have a completely different reaction to him. When I had an inflammation of the shoulder joint, I only got Movalis injections and escaped, and my mother got only the same injury from the same injection.

Olga, 51, Moscow

In my opinion, "Movalis" is too luxurious. Personally, I use analogues, like "Movasin." And the result is quite satisfied.

Dmitry, 39, Nefteyugansk

On all it is clear that the use of this drug requires an individual approach and strict control of the patient's condition in each individual case. For this reason, the use of injections without a doctor's prescription is not recommended.
