Instructions for use of the drug Tonsilgon and possible contraindications

Tonsilgon is a herbal medicinal product that helps alleviate the symptoms of various respiratory pathologies. Such a medicine can be used as an independent means for the treatment of inflammatory diseases of the respiratory system caused by a cold or various respiratory infections.

Pharmacological properties

Tonsilgon is widely used as a therapeutic and prophylactic agent to fight infections that affect the upper respiratory tract. The drug has a stimulating effect on human immunity, which is especially important in case of infectious pathologies.

Tonsilgon has:

  • antiseptic;
  • antitussive;
  • antioxidant;
  • smemasolytic;
  • antimicrobial;
  • antiallergic;
  • immunomodulatory;
  • anti-inflammatory effect.

To achieve a therapeutic effect is possible due to the interaction of some individual plants. Active compounds in the composition of the horsetail, chamomile and althea are natural immunomodulators and allow to stop the inflammatory process. Flavonoids of such herbs as chamomile and yarrow, in combination with tannins of oak acid, have a disinfecting effect and quickly relieve tonsil swelling.

In the intestine the absorption of plant components and ethanol occurs and its subsequent neutralization in the liver. Metabolites are excreted through the digestive tract along with bile acids, as well as the kidneys.

It should be remembered that before using the medication, you should consult with a specialist. This is due to the fact that the uncontrolled intake of Tonsilgon can lead to the development of adverse reactions.

Forms of release and composition

Tonsilgon is produced in the form of drops and dragees intended for oral administration. In the pharmacy, you can buy pills in the amount of 25 pieces, and drops in bottles of 50 and 100 ml. As part of the Tonsilgon tablets and drops, the same substances are present in the form of various herbal extracts. The concentration of the active ingredients is selected so that their concentration is the same in each form of the drug. This means that the content of healing herbs in pills is the same as in 25 drops.

  • Althea roots;
  • walnut leaves;
  • dandelion medicinal;

  • horsetail

As part of Tonsilgon tablets there are auxiliary components, among which are:

Instructions for use

Tonsilgon is considered an effective medication that helps to cope with various pathologies of the respiratory organs. To obtain the desired effect, apply the tool in accordance with the attached instructions.

Pills

Tablets do not need to grind before taking, but simply swallow as a whole and drink water. The dosage of Tonsilgon tablets depends on the age of the patient:

  • after 12 years at a time, you can drink 2 tablets of the drug;
  • at the age of 6-11 years a single dose of the drug is 1 tablet.

This treatment regimen is universal, but depending on the severity of the pathology, the dosage of Tonsilgon may vary.

Drops Tonsilgon

In the acute form of pathologies of the respiratory system, 25 drops are indicated not more than 6 times a day, and for treating infants, the dosage does not exceed 5 drops every 4 hours. Children up to 6 years old are shown taking 10 drops every hour, and at an older age, a single dose rises to 15 drops 5-6 times a day. With the elimination of acute symptoms, maintenance doses of Tonsilgon are selected, and the frequency of doses is reduced to 3 times. The duration of therapy is 7 days, it is not recommended to dilute the drops with water.

Tonsilgon for children

Tonsilgon is an effective and safe medication used for the treatment of respiratory pathologies. The drug in the form of drops can be given to children from 1 year old, and dragee from 6 years. The drug facilitates the course of flu, colds and acute respiratory viral infections and helps prevent the development of various complications. In addition, it helps to increase local immunity and the body's resistance to infections in the future.

Some parents are afraid to use the drug for the treatment of children for the reason that it contains alcohol. However, its concentration is insignificant and the risk of developing dangerous consequences is excluded. It is possible to completely prevent the negative effect of Tonsilgon on the child’s body if it is used for inhalation.

Tablets need to be swallowed whole, washed down with a sufficient amount of liquid. Before you swallow the drops, you should hold them in the mouth for a few seconds, which will achieve the best therapeutic effect. Drinking the drug is permitted regardless of the meal, but it is desirable to do this after a meal.

Children under one year are allowed to give 5 drops, previously diluted with water in equal proportions, several times during the day. At the age of 1-5 years a single dose is 10 drops, and after 6 years - no more than 15 drops or 1 tablet per dose.

During pregnancy and lactation

It is recommended to stop using Tonsilgon for the treatment of various pathologies of the respiratory organs during pregnancy and lactation. This is due to the fact that to date there have been no studies of the safety of the drug during pregnancy.

However, doctors often prescribe Tonsilgon for the treatment of pathologies in women during pregnancy, and no negative effects on the fetus were observed. It is for this reason that we can say that Tonsilgon is a safe drug that can be used during pregnancy. However, taking the medication is only necessary if there is evidence, observing the prescribed dosage and instructions of the doctor.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding it is best to take the drug in the form of pills, because the drops contain alcohol. In the event that there is no possibility to drink dragee, it is recommended to use drops for inhalation. With this form of treatment, alcohol does not enter the systemic circulation, but it also achieves a therapeutic effect.
