How to cook chicken in honey mustard sauce

At first glance, the combination of sweet honey and mustard may seem strange, but in cooking the sauce from these products has been used for a very long time. Together, these two ingredients make up a very harmonious combination that makes the taste of various salads, meat and fish dishes unforgettable.

Chicken cooked with this sauce will decorate the dining table. This dish is suitable as a side dish: rice, pasta, baked or steamed vegetables.

Fried Chicken Slices with Honey Mustard Sauce

This is a simple recipe for cooking chicken pieces in a honey-mustard sauce in a frying pan (you can also cook chicken wings this way).

Products:

  • 1.5 kg chicken fillet;
  • 1 tbsp. liquid honey and Rast. oils;
  • 2 tbsp. mustard in the form of sauce or with grains;
  • 1 carrot;
  • 1 tsp any seasoning mix for meat dishes.

Time spent: 1.5 hours

The chicken pieces are washed and wiped with a napkin or paper towel, ensuring that no pieces of paper are left on the meat. The chicken is dipped in the sauce. Slightly mix the products with your hand so that each piece is covered with sauce from all sides. The bowl is covered with foil or the meat is transferred with the marinade into the bag and sent to the refrigerator for ½ hour.

Carrots are cleaned, washed, cut along and cut into semicircular plates.

Roast carrots in hot oil in a frying pan for 2-3 minutes. Then put the chicken pieces with the marinade on the pan, reduce the heat, leaving it at a level below the average. Cover and leave for 10 minutes. After removing the lid, stir the ingredients and, when the liquid evaporates, fry the meat until a crust of a pleasant golden color appears.

You can sprinkle chicken with finely chopped greens in a plate.

Chicken with oranges in mustard-honey sauce

White poultry is considered the most useful. It will reveal a completely new way in the recipe with oranges and marinade of mustard, honey, soy sauce.

Products:

  • 500 grams of white meat chicken;
  • 15 g of mustard;
  • 1 tsp honey of any kind, except solid, and not candied;
  • 2 tbsp. soy sauce;
  • 1 orange;
  • salt to taste

Cooking time: 2-3 hours

Caloric value for 100 g of such a dish: 210 kcal.

Orange washed, remove the skin. Cut the fruit in half and from the middle begin to cut circles - all you need three pieces. They are then cut into small cubes. Juice is squeezed out of the remaining parts, removing the bones and pieces of the vein that fell into it.

From the juice, soy sauce, honey and mustard mix marinade. They put washed and dried fillet pieces into it.

Put meat into the sauce, mix it up, put orange pieces in it. Cover with a film, leave the dishes for 1.5-2 hours in the refrigerator. Then spread the chicken in the form, where it will be baked, the marinade is poured on top, so that it evenly covers the meat.

The oven is heated at 200 degrees and put the bird in it for 25 minutes. The result will please the whole family - chicken fillet in mustard-honey sauce with oranges will be a chic dish for lunch or dinner.

Juicy, flavorful chicken will turn out if you cook it in the oven, pre-marinated in mustard-honey sauce.

Products:

  • 850 g of chicken fillet, wings or legs;
  • 1 tbsp. oils;
  • 100 g of any liquid honey (natural) and grainy mustard;
  • 50 g of lemon juice, squeezed just before cooking;
  • some greens (parsley, green onions, dill);
  • 2-3 g of salt.

Cooking time with pickling: 3 hours.

Caloric content in 100 g: 219 kcal.

Mustard, honey, lemon juice and greens are mixed to prepare the marinade. Dense should be heated (but not hot), then it also mixes well with other products. The chicken is washed and dried.

Very large pieces of fillet cut into pieces, the wings and legs can be baked whole.

Meat is poured over the marinade and slightly massaged, rubbed with sauce. Put the marinated poultry in a bag and keep it in the fridge for two hours. Before cooking, the oven is well heated (the temperature for roasting chicken is 180 degrees).

When the meat is marinated, it is laid out along with the sauce on the bottom of the form, in which it is sent to the oven for ½ hour. Periodically it is worth checking whether the chicken is ready - if a clear juice comes out of the bird when it pierces, this indicates its readiness.

To keep the skin on the bones and cartilages of the bird from burning, the tips of the wings and legs can be covered with more meaty parts of the adjacent cruces.

 

Chicken in honey-soy mustard sauce in a slow cooker

Multicooker greatly simplifies the process of cooking any dish

Products:

  • 700 g chicken legs, wings or fillet pieces;
  • 2 tbsp honey and mustard (with grains or in the form of pasta);
  • ½ tbsp. soy sauce;
  • 2 peeled garlic cloves;
  • salt or seasoning suitable for chicken - as much as you need to taste.

Cooking time: 3 hours

Caloric content in 100 g: 204 kcal.

The chicken is washed, dried with a towel or thick paper napkin. A marinade is prepared from soy sauce, honey, mustard and grated garlic, in which meat is dipped. After mixing the pieces of bird with the marinade, put them, covered with foil, in the refrigerator for 2 hours.

Multicooker include on the "Grill" or "Frying" depending on the model. Meat with the remnants of the sauce is lowered into the container of the unit, mix the products and leave to cook for 25 minutes. The slow cooker perfectly preserves the healthy properties of the dish and does not overdry the meat, so it turns out to be ruddy, juicy and very tasty.

This recipe is more complex and time-consuming, but is ideal for a holiday table. This dish can surprise guests and loved ones, and its taste will be remembered for a long time. They will ask for a long time how the whole chicken is cooked with apples in honey-mustard sauce, because its taste is really unforgettable.

Products:

  • 1 whole chicken about 1.5 kg;
  • 2-3 garlic cloves (peel and chop or chop finely);
  • 2 tbsp. honey (liquid natural is ideal);
  • 3 tbsp. grainy mustard and olive oil;
  • 3 apples (it is better to choose varieties with sourness, not exclusively sweet);
  • 2 tbsp. soy sauce;
  • salt according to preference.

Cooking time: 4 hours

Honey, mustard, butter, mashed or finely chopped garlic, soy sauce are mixed to make marinade. You can add a little salt.

Washed chicken is freed from excess viscera, hanging pieces of skin and fat, dried with a napkin. The bird is rubbed with marinade inside and outside on all sides, watered with leftovers from the top and in a package sent to the refrigerator for 1-2 hours.

Apples are cut into slices, the core must be removed, and the skin can be left or cut as you like.

Fruit slices are placed inside the chicken, the hole is closed with the help of toothpicks or threads. The legs should be knit neatly together.

It is better to bake a bird in a sleeve, a special parchment bag or an oven-pot with a glass lid. The temperature for good roasting is 180 degrees. Time - about 1.5 hours.

Readiness is checked by piercing meat with a wooden stick or fork. The selection of clear juice indicates the readiness of the dish. Before serving, you need to remove all threads and toothpicks, which were fixed bird.

Useful tips

To make the dish tasty and nutritious, it is recommended to use only natural honey, and not syrup or other substitutes. Mustard can be any, but grainy looks spectacular.

Purchased mustard is usually less spicy than cooked at home, so in the second case you need to take a little less sauce than indicated in the recipe.

Spicy lovers can be advised to add a few pieces of chopped chili peppers to the marinade.
