Lycomycin is an antibiotic from the class of lincosamides, it has bacteriostatic abilities, an increase in the amount of consumed drug acts on the patient's body, reducing the effect of bacteria. It eliminates the synthesis of proteins in the cells of pathogenic bacteria. It is proven that the main ingredient is most active against gram-positive bacteria. Most of gram-negative bacteria, viruses, fungi, and protozoa have resistance to lincomycin. Resistance is a very protracted process.
There is a cross stability of microflora to Clindamycin, Lincomycin and other antiseptics related to lincosamides. The maximum concentration of a substance accumulates in the liver and kidneys. Lincomycin hydrochloride is valid against aerobic gram-positive bacteria. Most of all Gram-negative bacteria, protozoa, fungi, viruses, and Enterococcus faecalis are resistant to Lincomycin.
Instructions for use
Capsules
It is necessary to use capsules three or four times a day, 500 mg. Doctors prescribe this drug for 1-3 weeks or more. A couple of hours before a meal, the pill must be consumed, followed by water in a volume of 100-150 ml.
Children are prescribed Lincomycin tablets in a daily dose, the calculation: 30-60 mg per 1 kg of body weight. With the appointment of lincomycin hydrochloride injected into a vein, maintaining an interval of 8 hours at the rate of 10-20 mg per 1 kg of weight.
The drug should be taken orally for a couple of hours before meals, only on an empty stomach.
Since when taken on an empty stomach, only thirty percent of the active substance is absorbed, and when consumed after - even less, about five percent. It turns out food intake 4-6 times reduces the availability of the antibiotic.
Ampoules
For patients in the age range from 1 month to 14 years, the recommended rate of substance is the following: 10–20 mg / 1 kg of weight per day. To calculate the dose of the drug for a single dose, the resulting mass should be divided into three injections.
The above injections are made in accordance with the strict observance of the rules specified by doctors. When inserting a needle into soft tissue, one should make sure that the needle is inserted deep enough to prevent the development of soft tissue abscesses.
Inside the vein Lincomycin is administered by drip, the rate of administration should not exceed 60-80 drops per minute. 250 ml of isotonic sodium chloride solution are added to a dose of 2 ml of a 30% Lincomycin solution (600 mg). Patients over 14 years old with intramuscular or intravenous injections are given a single dose per dose of 0.6 g (= 600 mg), that is, a double dose of the drug should fit in the syringe.
Within 24 hours, the use of 1.8 g (= 1800 mg) is permissible, however, in the case of a serious illness, a volume of up to 2400 mg is acceptable.
In dentistry
Lincomycin in capsules of 250 mg in dentistry drink according to the presented scheme: 2 capsules per dose 3 times a day. Apply the drug should not longer than one week. In case of periodontitis, lincomycin is taken 10 days.

Lincomycin AKOS

Contraindications and side effects
Lincomycin tablets are not used, if there are any pathologies of the gastrointestinal tract, it threatens with colitis. Therefore, in these cases, it is advised to take other antibiotics with higher bioavailability.
Women with this remedy are advised to use an antifungal agent to prevent thrush at the same time. If there are pains or cramps in the abdominal cavity, you should immediately consult a doctor.
Lincomycin should not be used for:
- allergic rash on any substance from the drug;
- identified pathologies of the kidneys and liver;
- fungal skin and oral mucosa;
- chronic thrush;
- jumps in blood sugar levels.
Use during pregnancy
The effect of Lincomycin on the fetus is rated under category "C", which means that the active substance passes through the placenta entirely, therefore, pregnant women are not allowed to use any antibiotic. Nursing mothers need to remember that the drug is concentrated in the milk of a woman, and therefore breastfeeding should be refused while taking the medicine.
Application for children
Newborns from one month to fourteen years to take 30-60 mg per day, intravenous drip method is used in a dose of 10-20 mg per kilogram of weight with an interval of at least 8 hours.
Drug interaction
The drug does not interact with other antibiotics, such as penicillin, cephalosporin, chloramphenicol or erythromycin, because it leads to antagonism of the antimicrobial action.
Lincomycin is not used in conjunction with substances that have a relaxing effect on the nervous system, as the neuromuscular blockade is increased, which can lead to obstruction of neurons. Drug medications used to reduce the symptoms of diarrhea reduce the direct effect of the antibiotic.
