Buckwheat in a pan with onions and carrots

Buckwheat in a pan with onions and carrots is quite simple, but at the same time appetizing with an incredible aroma and healthy dish. A special feature of the recipe is that buckwheat porridge is cooked directly in the pan along with vegetables. In addition, this is practical and convenient.

In addition to buckwheat porridge - carrots and onions. Therefore, such a dish can be safely considered to be lean and included in the rations of vegetarians.

Of course, you can add other vegetables as well as meat. For example, beef combines perfectly with buckwheat and vegetables.

Ingredients:

  • Buckwheat - 1 cup
  • Carrots - 2 pcs.
  • Green onions - 100 gr.
  • Vegetable oil - 30 ml.
  • Salt, pepper, spices - to taste.

Cooking:

  1. Prepare all the necessary ingredients.
  2. Peel carrots and rub on a coarse grater. If you take a young carrot, do not peel, it will be enough to rinse thoroughly under running water.
  3. To begin, we need only the bow itself, without green feathers. Cut the onion into half rings. If you want you can replace the onion with green.
  4. Put the grated carrot, chopped onion in the pre-hot pan with vegetable oil, add salt and black pepper to taste. Olive or coconut oil can replace vegetable.
  5. Fry the vegetables for 5 minutes on low heat.
  6. Add buckwheat to the pan, salt to taste and cover with water in the ratio 1: 2. So you just get crumbly porridge. Pre-soak and rinse the cereal. Remove all the bad bits if they are, often they are black. For the recipe and green buckwheat. I do not recommend taking cereal, which is boiled for 7 minutes or does not require cooking at all.
  7. Cook buckwheat with vegetables for 20-25 minutes on low heat with the lid closed. In no case do not interfere with porridge in general, only after the expiration of time. Add butter to the finished porridge is not necessary.
  8. Green onion feathers cut into pieces and add to porridge. If you want to make porridge more viscous, you can add tomato paste or ketchup.

After stir, cover and let infuse for 5 minutes. Then put buckwheat porridge with vegetables in plates and serve to the table.

For buckwheat, you can cook beef steak or chicken cutlets. As for the sauce, sour cream from sour cream, garlic, chopped dill or parsley, black pepper and salt to taste is best. And the perfect combination would be a salad of fresh tomatoes and cucumbers seasoned with mayonnaise or olive oil. However, if you do not want a salad, you can simply cut the vegetables.
