Flemoklav Solyutab: instructions for use for adults and children

Antibiotics - a large group of medicines, their use should always be made only on prescription. All of them have a detrimental effect on certain types of microorganisms, either by destroying them or by blocking reproduction. Inevitable and side effects for the human body.

The group of beta-lactams, to which Flemoklav belongs, is the safest in terms of side effects, but since it has been used for a long time, many types of bacteria have developed resistance to these drugs.

Therefore, Flemoklav belongs to the group of protected beta-lactams, which retain their effectiveness, partially ignoring the resistance of bacteria. Attention should be paid to the fact that Flemoklav Solyutab, like any other antibiotics, should be taken only as prescribed by a doctor after bacteriological analysis, in order not to cause harm to your body.

Release form, composition and packaging

Flemoklav available in tablets with different content of the active substance. The color of the tablets is white or straw, the presence of small brown grains is normal.

The number of tablets in a package is different - the maximum dosage (875 mg) is packed in blisters of 7 tablets each, two packages in a blister. The rest are in blisters of 4 pieces each, in a package are five blisters. Each package is designed for a single course of administration.

The main substances in the composition of the tablets are two - the antibiotic amoxicillin, and sodium clavulonate, which blocks the bacterial enzyme beta-lactamase and prevents the bacteria from breaking down the antibiotic. In addition, there are additional substances, such as stearin and saccharin, which give the tablet its shape and taste.

The dosage of the active ingredients in the tablet may be different. There are four options:

  • 125 mg amoxicillin / 31.25 mg clavulonate;
  • 250 mg / 62.5 mg;
  • 500 mg / 125 mg;
  • 875 mg / 125 mg;

Indications and contraindications

Indications for use Flemoklava - inflammatory processes caused by susceptible microorganisms. The spectrum of action of Flemoklav is quite wide, it includes the following microorganisms:

  1. Staphylococcus, including penicillin-resistant, streptococci;
  2. Hemophilic wand, nokardii, enterococci;
  3. Helicobacter;
  4. Causative agent of plague;
  5. Treponema pallidum;
  6. Causative agent of whooping cough.

Some microorganisms may develop resistance. It should be remembered that the sensitivity of microorganisms is determined under laboratory conditions, i.e. in vivo, the drug may be less effective.

These microorganisms cause diseases of upper respiratory tract, bronchitis (acute and chronic exacerbations), gynecological infections and diseases of the urinary organs, infections of the skin, muscles, joints, and bones. When purulent inflammation of these tissues is carried out bacteriological analysis of discharge - seeding to identify microorganisms, at the same time determined by the sensitivity of bacteria to antibiotics.

If the bacterium is sensitive to Flemoklav, it is prescribed. In some cases, it is possible to empirically prescribe an antibiotic before obtaining the results of seeding, if the patient’s condition requires immediate antibiotic therapy. The doctor should decide on the appointment of Flemoklav.

You can not take Flemoklav with hypersensitivity to it - and this drug is one of the most allergenic. Also, contraindications will be renal failure, kidney disease, if the glomerular filtration rate has decreased less than 30 ml / min, blood diseases - lymphocytic leukemia and other types of blood disorders, infectious mononucleosis.

It is necessary to take the drug with caution in diseases of the liver and gastrointestinal tract. Children younger than a year, as well as pregnant and lactating women, the drug is not recommended.

The dosage should be calculated based on the instructions for use, should not exceed it - possible overdose of the drug.

Instructions for use, dosage for children

Take Flemoklav need to immediately before a meal in order to avoid irritating the gastrointestinal tract. The frequency of use and dosage depends on the patient's age and his state of health.

For adults are intended tablets Flemoklav Solutab at a dosage of 875 mg. They are taken twice a day. If the patient’s condition is severe, the dose is doubled. In case of kidney diseases, the maximum dosage is prescribed only if the glomerular filtration rate allows.

Children over the age of 12 take the drug in the same way as adults. More younger - depending on body weight. If it is more than 40, then the child is prescribed the drug at a dosage of 500 mg three times a day.

For children under 12 years old and weighing less than 40 kg, a formula is used that takes into account the daily dose per kilogram of body weight (25 mg of amoxicillin per 1 kg of weight). Dosages of 125 mg and 250 mg are designed specifically for children. The drug is not intended for use in children younger than a year.

It should be noted that the course of treatment by Flemoklav should last at least 5 days and not more than two weeks. Short-term reception leads to the selection of resistant pathogens, which later can turn into chronic purulent processes.

The lack of effect for two weeks indicates the ineffectiveness of the drug and the need to choose another antibiotic. This recommendation applies equally to children and adults.

Side effects and overdose

Flemoklav differs in a relatively small number of side effects compared with most antibiotics. The most frequent of these are allergic reactions, from pruritus and urticaria to Quincke edema.

Perhaps the development of dyspeptic reactions up to hemorrhagic colitis. Possible violation of the natural microflora and the development of candidiasis (thrush) of various organs. The drug is toxic to the liver, therefore, jaundice and pruritus may appear, as well as signs of drug-induced hepatitis.

Possible worsening of the condition in diseases of the kidneys. In extremely rare cases, blood formation is disturbed.

An overdose of the drug, which is most often manifested by diarrhea and vomiting, is possible. With a strong overdose, convulsions and loss of consciousness are possible. Treatment of symptomatic overdose - taking activated charcoal or other intestinal sorbents, diuretic drugs, heavy drinking, with convulsions - Diazepam.

Interaction with other drugs

By its action, Flemoklav Solyutab belongs to bactericidal (i.e., killing bacteria) antibiotics, therefore it can be combined with other bactericidal antibiotics, but it cannot be combined with bacteriostatic (ceasing reproduction).

Also, do not combine this drug with NSAIDs, which slow its excretion through the kidneys. A similar effect is given by the combined use of Flemoklav with Methotrexate. Reduced elimination of drugs significantly increases the risk of side effects.

Digoskin, a drug prescribed for heart failure, together with Flemoklav absorbs much better, so you should reduce the dosage of digoxin.

Combined use with drugs that reduce blood clotting, increases the risk of bleeding. There are cases of reducing the effectiveness of hormonal contraceptives during the use of Flemoklav.

Pregnancy and lactation

The use of antibiotics during pregnancy is highly undesirable. They are prescribed only when the condition of the mother requires immediate treatment if there are serious, life-threatening diseases.

There is a rule that the benefit to the mother must exceed the potential risk to the fetus, but it is impossible to accurately calculate these indicators.

Flemoklav Solyutab is not intended for the treatment of pregnant and lactating women, it is prescribed only as a last resort. There is no confirmed data on its teratogenicity (i.e., a negative effect on the fetus), as well as no data on its safety.

special instructions

Care should be taken if allergic reactions to penicillins and cephalosporins have been observed in the past. These drugs can give a cross-allergic reaction to each other. The same applies to people suffering from severe allergies and bronchial asthma.

Prolonged use of dangerous fungal and bacterial infections, the selection of strains of bacteria, insensitive to amoxicillin. Therefore, one should strictly observe the duration of the course of treatment, not allowing for its unjustified reduction or extension.

Persons who have a urethral catheter installed during treatment may be clogged with amoxicillin deposits, so it should be changed daily, and preferably several times a day.

In the case of a generalized rash, accompanied by fever, and seizures, treatment should be stopped immediately.

The combination of Flemoklav with alcohol reduces the effectiveness of the drug, therefore it is desirable to abstain from alcohol.

Pharmacy sales terms and price

The drug is sold in pharmacies strictly on prescription, like any other antibiotics. This is done in order to combat self-treatment, because only a doctor can adequately assess the need for antibiotics. The price of Flemoklav Solyutab averages 400-500 r, it can vary greatly depending on the city and pharmacy.
