Instructions for use of ear drops Otipaks

There is pain in the ears, do you feel stuffy? These may be the first signs of otitis. In this case, one of the most effective means is Otipaks drops, which can be used to treat children and adults. Despite the fact that the drug is dispensed without a prescription, before using it, it is advisable to consult a specialist and study the instructions for use.

The composition of the drug

The drug has a colorless liquid, which has an alcoholic aroma. The tool is contained in a small bottle of 16 ml, complete with a pipette for more accurate dosage.

The composition of the droplets includes the following components:

  1. Phenazole. He is "responsible" for the redemption of the inflammatory process, reducing pain.
  2. Lidocaine. Known painkiller. Enhances the effectiveness of phenazole, making it possible to get rid of pain for a long time.
It should be noted that several decades ago, phenazole was used as an independent means that helped stop the bleeding, but research has helped to prove that its effectiveness can be improved by combining with other components.

In the composition of the drops there are other excipients:

  • water;
  • ethanol, antimicrobial effect;
  • glycerol with a softening effect;
  • sodium thiosulfate, accelerating the elimination of signs of inflammation.

Indications, contraindications

Most often, the drug is prescribed for otitis (inflammation of the third ear), and the tool is effective in both chronic and acute forms of this disease. It also helps with the so-called barotraumatic otitis, which usually happens in people who often face pressure drops, such as pilots, divers.

Otipax is prescribed for inflammations that occur after acute respiratory viral infection, flu, tonsillitis - such complications usually occur with reduced immunity.

Drops are effective in suppuration of the outer ear. It relieves congestion, reduces pain, eliminates other symptoms:

  • puffiness;
  • redness;
  • swelling;
  • itchiness

The tool is safe enough, but it, like any other medicine, has contraindications. So, do not use Otipaks when:

  • ear membrane perforation;
  • hypersensitivity to the main components of the tool;
  • the appearance of allergic reactions.

That is why it is so important to visit a doctor before using the medicine to prevent rupture of the eardrum.

It should also be noted that the use of Otipaks for a long time can cause a positive result of the doping tests, which is important for athletes.

Instructions for use Otipaksa

For adults

In the treatment of otitis media in an adult, drops are used by 3-4 drops in each ear three times a day. The maximum duration of treatment is 10 days. Before you dig in, you need to warm up the bottle with liquid in your hands a little - in this case, Otipax will act more effectively.

About an hour after instillation, there is a feeling of relief, pain subsides. And 3-4 days after the start of treatment, the pain disappears completely. To make the medicine more effective, tilt your head a little to one side, drop drops and keep your head in this position for another 1-2 minutes.

For kids

Otipaks due to its safe composition can be used in the treatment of newborns, since the components of the funds are not retained in the tissues and removed from the body. Despite the fact that the remedy is prescribed to children of any age, it is necessary to consult the attending physician before treating a child.

Dosage for children is as follows:

  1. Children under one year old should be given 1-2 drops in each ear canal. Per day spend 2-3 instillation.
  2. Children from two years old are prescribed 3-4 drops of Otipax in each ear three times a day.

If the child is very small, instead of burying, you can wet a piece of fleece in the drops and lay it in the eyelet.

For pregnant

Drops are prescribed for pregnant and lactating women. In this case, the dosage is prescribed individually, but most often it is similar to the above indicated dosage for adults: 3-4 drops in each ear three times a day.

Recommendations for use

Otipaks is especially effective in the case of its use at the initial stage of treatment - in this case complications can be avoided, the healing process can be accelerated, and the pain syndrome will not be so pronounced.

In addition, early treatment with drops will prevent the appearance of pus, which can cause perforation of the eardrum.

Since the drug does not interact with other means, it can be used in complex therapy in the treatment of otitis media (simultaneous administration with antibiotics and painkillers is also allowed).

According to the results of clinical trials, a single dose of this tool will not give a positive result, because it is so important to conduct a full course without interrupting it.

Drug storage

In order for the drops not to lose their healing properties for a long time, they must be properly stored. So, unopened packaging can be stored for five years, opened - no more than 6 months (after that, the medicine must be thrown away, because it loses its properties).

Storage temperature should be no more than +25 degrees, they should also be kept in a dry and dark room.

Analogs Otipaksa

The cost of the drug in pharmacies is an average of 250 rubles.

If for any reason the drops do not suit you, you can use the following analogues:

  1. Otyrelax. Drops of Romanian production, having a similar effect.
  2. Otinum. The main active ingredient is choline salicylate. Effective in the treatment of otitis. During pregnancy and during lactation, the use of funds is prohibited.
  3. Anauran. These drops are very effective in diseases of viral nature. Unlike Otirelax, they can be used even when the ear membrane is broken. However, this remedy is prescribed only in severe cases, for example, in case of purulent otitis, as there are no painkillers or anti-inflammatory components in the drops.

Reviews of taking ear drops

I have a little daughter, because they constantly experience problems with their ears: they will forget the cap, they will get ARVI from the kindergarten and it will go down to their ears, especially in the fall and spring during the period of vitamin deficiency. Children are very sensitive to ear pain - the baby was constantly crying. As a result, the pediatrician prescribed us Otipaks: a fairly inexpensive and safe tool that can be used even for newborns.

Literally a day after the instillation, the pain went away - the child slept normally, the general state of health improved.

Daria, 27 years old

I went to work, there was a strong wind, and I, as always, without a cap. The result is otitis. The pain was terrible, no means helped. I went to the pharmacy again: the pharmacist advised Otipaks, said that it would relieve pain in a couple of hours. And so it happened, the truth decided not to interrupt the course of treatment and dripped all 10 days. Now in my home first aid kit there is always this remedy.

Anna, 21 years old

If during the course of treatment the pain does not go away, you should immediately contact an ophthalmologist.
