How to treat nail fungus at home

A fungus on the legs is a fairly common problem that many people face. In our material we will tell you how to treat it, including the use of folk methods.

Main symptoms of fungus

After infection, the fungus needs some period to settle down "in a new place." First, the disease affects the big toes, as a result, the nail plate is destroyed during the year. Appears:

  • color change;
  • a strong thickening of the plate;
  • crumbling edge.

So, a healthy nail, not affected by the fungus, has a translucent color, translucent capillaries give a pinkish tint. In case of infection with a fungus, the color of the nail becomes darker. Under the nail plate itself you can see the gap - this is where all the microbes accumulate. In case of late treatment, the fungus begins to penetrate into the plate, which results in its destruction.

If you do not begin treatment, the disease spills over into the chronic form.

In addition to nail damage, the presence of a fungus can cause a decrease in immunity, cause allergies, and damage internal organs over time.

To understand exactly what kind of problem you have, you should familiarize yourself with the types of fungus that exist:

  1. Mold. Most often, it “attacks” an organism weakened after an illness. Fingernails turn green, turn yellow, may turn blue with time. But in some cases, the disease is manifested by the appearance of dark spots.
  2. Dermatophytes. In this case, yellow spots or streaks appear on the nail plate. The defeat begins from the edge, then slowly moves to the center, and the yellowed parts begin to quickly collapse.
  3. Yeast. As a result, the nail becomes wavy, darkens, with time begins to lag.
