How do false contractions occur during pregnancy

There is just a little time left and you will soon have a baby. Starting from the 38th week, for each mother comes a crucial moment before the birth.

Moral preparation is needed, but at the same time there are a lot of questions that need to be answered. And here is one of the most exciting question remains about the false battles.

After all, if a woman gives birth for the first time, it is very difficult for her to understand the difference between real and training bouts. In order to be fully prepared and not to wind ourselves up once more, let's try to figure out what exactly false fights are and what they are for.

Causes of false contractions

The first doctor who gave a description of false contractions was Braxtock-Hicks, and therefore now they are often called by his name or by training. Such contractions "train" the uterus, thereby preparing it for the upcoming labor.

As a result of the vigorous activity of the uterus, the blood flow to the baby increases and brings him additional oxygen and useful nutrients.

Training fights are absolutely normal and should not be scared.

The main reasons that may affect uterine training contractions include the following:

  • increased physical exertion (long standing on the legs, sports exercises, homework, and so on);
  • hot bath;
  • strong tea and coffee are the causative agents of the nervous system, which subsequently leads to the tone of the uterus;
  • a sharp increase in the activity of the crumbs;
  • transferred stress or other emotional stress;
  • sexual intercourse;
  • drinking alcohol or smoking;
  • poor sleep and increased fatigue;
  • an insufficient amount of fluid in the body leads to a decrease in the blood supply to the uterus, and as a result, it begins to decrease;
  • poor nutrition;
  • large fetus or the simultaneous bearing of several babies;
  • abundant food or malnutrition;
  • touching the belly of a stranger.

Since the 37th week of pregnancy, the fetus is considered mature, therefore the appearance of false contractions at this stage is normal and should not cause you to panic. As a rule, the woman feels them in the evening or during the period of rest.

They are practically painless, irregular, and are sometimes not even noticeable.

Contractions prepare the cervix for disclosure, but at the same time do not reveal it themselves.

False contractions during pregnancy: symptoms and sensations

The body of each woman is individual, so it’s pointless to talk about any standard sensations for all. Some women feel distinct discomfort, for others - the fights go unnoticed. However, among the most common are the following signs:

  1. Irregular nature of the manifestation. To catch the rhythm of such contractions is almost impossible, because they can be every 3-4 hours, or once a day. Most importantly, their frequency does not exceed 6 times in one hour;
  2. By the length of one fight does not exceed a minute, and most often it lasts a few seconds;
  3. Strong pains are not typical for such contractions, to a greater extent they simply bring a certain discomfort;
  4. Occur can in the evening or at night. In the afternoon, due to the activity, a woman may not notice them;
  5. It is possible to reduce such contractions by simple actions, for example, changing the position of the body.

In most cases, transfer training bouts is not difficult, except for a low threshold of pain. In such cases, it is possible to reduce the pain with medication.

Signs of many women, contractions resemble the sensations they experience during the menstrual cycle: nagging pain in the lumbar region and lower abdomen. If you put your hand on your stomach, you can feel how it is turning to stone.

How do false contractions manifest themselves: at the 38th, 39th and 40th week of pregnancy

Absolutely any day, starting from the 38th week of pregnancy, a woman can begin labor activity. And this is considered quite normal. The organism of the future mother during this period is subject to serious changes.

The bones of the pelvis begin to gradually shift, the posture becomes different, the load on the lower back and spine is increased at times. Such changes may be painful or bring some discomfort.

There are cases when the femoral nerve is pinched. It can also lead to a little pain. This phenomenon is observed with a long stay in one position. That is why try to change poses more often, while reducing pressure on internal organs. Muscle pain also occurs due to a lack of calcium.

After the 38th week of pregnancy, the uterus is increasingly toned, thus causing false contractions. Stomach kameneet, but after a few seconds, the fight passes. This activity helps to fully "mature" the uterus and prepare the neck for opening before childbirth.

Differences of real fights from false

If a woman is a primipara, then often she worries that she cannot distinguish real contractions from training ones. What is worth paying attention to once again not to cheat yourself?

  1. Soreness of contractions. If the pain tends to increase and each time brings you more and more discomfort, then here you can safely talk about the beginning of labor activity;
  2. Fight is felt throughout the abdomen, while extending to the back or pelvic region;
  3. The frequency of contractions has a clearly defined time frame;
  4. Increase intensity up to five times per minute;
  5. The duration of the bout has a longer time span;
  6. The presence of other signs that speak of the onset of labor (discharge of water, mucus plug and so on).

How to cope with false fights

So, as we have already figured out with you, false contractions are just a preparation of the female body before the start of the crucial moment and, most importantly, this is not a reason to call an ambulance every time. In order to reduce a little discomfort from them, try to follow the following recommendations:

  1. If contractions do not give you strong pain, try to go for a short walk. Fresh air will help you get a little distracted, as well as saturate the blood with oxygen, which will benefit your crumbs. The most important thing is not to walk far from home and try to always be with you;
  2. If you are at home, change your body position, walk or lie down depending on your previous activity;
  3. Try to concentrate on a lesson, for example, read a book or watch a movie;
  4. Reduce the pain from false labor can warm water. Take a relaxing bath. If desired, add a few drops of aromatic oil to the water;
  5. Start breathing properly. This is just the right time to practice breathing in and out in the right rhythm. If you attended the school of mothers, remember what you were taught there. You should take deep breaths through the nasal cavity, and then slowly exhale through the mouth, while trying to hold the lips with a straw;
  6. Sometimes, in order to facilitate the contractions, a small light snack or a glass of water is sufficient.

When to call an ambulance

Sometimes there are cases when you need to immediately call an ambulance:

  • the appearance of uterine contractions, when the gestation period is not more than 36 weeks (such reductions should be alarming, since they can speak about the onset of preterm labor);
  • if blood discharge of any nature began (this may be due to placental abruption);
  • if you notice a watery discharge (amniotic fluid may be leaking);
  • the mucus plug is gone, and the gestation period does not exceed 36 weeks;
  • the appearance of constant sensations in the lumbar region;
  • there is a pressure effect in the perineum region;
  • a drastic change in the behavior of the child, for example, the manifestation of hyperactivity, which is not typical for him, or the slowing down of all movements;
  • in case the contractions are regular and occur on average every 3 minutes. This will speak about the beginning of labor activity.

Question answer

Just about to give birth to my baby. It remains to wait quite a bit. I worry that I can not understand the difference between real and false fights. What to do?

This question sooner or later arises in all women who give birth for the first time. Always watch your body and sensations.

If it seems to you that the pain increases during contractions, or the time between them is reduced, you can always call an ambulance or go to the hospital on your own.

The obstetrician will carry out an inspection and in case of false fears you may be allowed to go home with certain recommendations.

What should be done if the 41st week of pregnancy is already in progress, and no contractions are felt?

This can be a perevarivaniem baby. You can try to stimulate contractions naturally. For example, a long walk in the fresh air, eating certain foods, having sex, and so on. If such methods do not help, then you need to go to the hospital. They will stimulate medication and cause generic activity.

Training fights always occur? Or are there cases when they are real at once?

Every woman's body is individual. False contractions always appear before the real ones, only some mothers do not feel them. In any case, the uterus must be prepared and after that the opening of the neck occurs.
