Independent finishing of the house with siding and the cost of work "turnkey"

Siding - one of the most practical and at the same time cheap options for covering the house. Installation of panels can be easily done by hand, because it is quite a simple process. The material attracts not only by its low price, but also by its characteristics: it is not afraid of moisture, wind, does not fade in the sun. There are a lot of options for the manufacture of materials, a large range of colors. On sale you can find materials that mimic natural wood or stone - a real paradise for the designer.

Choose a type of siding

Siding - special cladding panels. Sizes of materials for external facing usually have the form of a lamella, but there are also larger options.

Sam siding can be produced from a variety of materials. We will consider them in more detail.

Plastic

Panels of this type are made on the basis of polymers (vinyl or acrylic). The use of plastic panels can rightly be called the most affordable option. Products are not afraid of decay, they are resistant to moisture, the material is not covered with cracks, does not burn. The disadvantages of plastic can be attributed to its low strength to impact: even the slightest physical impact can lead to cracks, dents.

The approximate price for 1 piece is 220 rubles.

Metal

Such panels, made of aluminum or galvanized iron, are 100% fire safe. The advantages also include a high level of strength.

However, there are some points that can cause inconvenience during installation and use. For example, the disadvantages include a large mass of panels, the tendency to the formation of rust.

To avoid this, it is better to choose aluminum-based siding, but the cost will be higher.

The average cost is 250 rubles per item.

Tree

Another name for such siding is planken. The material has a high cost, among the minuses: the requirements for increased attention and competent care. However, the advantages of the use of wooden panels include excellent sound and thermal insulation characteristics, attractiveness.

The cost of 1 square meter of material - in the region of 3000 rubles.

Fiber cement

A fairly new type of siding that is just gaining popularity. Panels of this group are non-flammable, not afraid of fungus and mold. Among the advantages we can distinguish a rich palette of colors, durability, ease of installation on special mounts. The cost of 1 "square" starts from 1000 rubles.

Finishing the house with siding outside - work is simple, but requires attention. And taking into account what prices are valid in specialized plating companies, it is much more profitable to carry out the work independently.

Decorating a house with a siding do it yourself

Regardless of the type of panels, the technology of their installation will be about the same. In addition, for facing the house, you will also need to prepare some tools:

  • screwdriver;
  • hacksaw;
  • motrol;
  • roulette wheel;
  • construction plumbs;
  • pencil.

Let's describe in detail how the exterior is done at home with this material.

The first step is the calculation of the required amount of material. You can only calculate approximately here, and it is advisable to purchase slightly more panels than you calculated (approximately plus 10%) - it’s better that you have few products left than there are not enough in the process of installation.

You can calculate the approximate number of panels. For this we need the area of the outer walls, cornices and basement. It is necessary to divide the obtained result of the area on the area of one panel.

Training

Before embarking on the finish, the exterior walls should be prepared. This stage includes:

  • removal of dirt and dust;
  • removing lime or plants that usually grow at the very bottom of the walls;
  • removal of plaster or other finishing materials that have become unusable or will simply interfere with the finish;
  • temporary dismantling of window sills and other elements that will interfere with the installation.

Frame installation

If the house is made of brick or lightweight concrete, it is better to use a not too bulky crate of lightweight material, such as aluminum. But for a frame structure, it is more practical to choose a wooden frame from a timber house.

The crate is made using laths measuring 5x5 cm. They are fastened to the walls with nails, but it is much more practical to use screws.

It should be remembered that when installing wall siding panels on the grid will be fixed vertically.

Themselves the frame must be mounted at a distance of about 30 cm from each other and near the openings. At the very bottom, it is not necessary to start the crate.

First, install the corner elements of the frame. And do not forget to regularly check its evenness using the construction level. For fixing, use zinc or aluminum screws that have a corrosion-resistant coating.

Insulation tips

In order for the house to "breathe", it is best to choose mineral wool, especially this option will be relevant for a wooden structure. The thickness of the material is chosen based on the climatic characteristics of the region.

When insulating the house with this material, there should be a ventilation layer between the panels themselves and the siding. If the height of the crates is not enough to provide 1 cm of clearance, you need to make a counter lattice.

After fixing the insulation, windproof (hydro-protective) film is mounted on top using a stapler. It is advisable not to save on this material and purchase special windproof membranes, thanks to which the necessary microclimate will be created in the house.

Siding trim

Work begins with the installation of the starting profile, which must be mounted on the batten, using galvanized screws. In the second step, the installation of the corner elements and, if necessary, the connecting profile is carried out. For finishing openings used j-profiles.

Installation of panels is made on the starting level, and the lining is "going" from the bottom and goes up. The products themselves are attached to each other thanks to the tongue-and-groove system.

At the same time, it is important to remember that when working with plastic or wooden panels you should not install them too rigidly (fixedly): after installation, the elements should move slightly to the sides.

This will avoid their deformation.

When working with plastic products, between the panels and the cap of the screw, leave a small distance (literally 1-2 mm). Due to this, it is possible to avoid deformation of the mount in case of a change in humidity, the plastic may expand slightly in size due to this.

Finishing is completed by installing the finishing bar at the very top of the wall: the last panel from the bottom is inserted into the bar and snap into place. You also need to reinstall the window sills, other facade elements that you dismantled when preparing the walls.

Approximate cost of work "turnkey"

If you are not sure that you will be able to install the siding yourself when facing the house, you can contact the experts. Companies are usually chosen on the basis of the turnkey value they offer: that is, a full technological cycle, including the installation of the batten, the panels themselves, and additional products.

There is no doubt that in different regions of Russia the cost of the work will be different, but we will give you the average cost depending on the type of siding and the type of work:

  1. Installation of basement siding - from 570 rubles per "square".
  2. Installation of vinyl panels - an average of 470 rubles per 1 square meter.
  3. Installation together with insulation will cost a bit more expensive - from 650 rubles per 1 "square".
  4. The cost of installing metal panels with waterproofing will cost about 620 rubles.

Some companies also offer services for the purchase of panels and insulation, however, we recommend that you do it yourself - travel around the shops, markets, choose the appropriate option, in consultation with consultants.
