The rate of leukocytes in the urine of women: analysis, table, causes of deviations

Every day the human body needs protection from many bacteria, germs, viruses. This concern is mainly assumed by the immune system with various auxiliary components contained in the blood.

Leukocyte functions

Many are faced with the need to take a blood test. It describes in detail the percentage of various components, such as red blood cells, platelets, leukocytes. Each of the cells in the body performs certain functions, so their decrease or increase gives you the opportunity to learn about the threat to human health.

Leukocytes are cells that are white blood cells of various shapes and structures. They are located in the blood, lymph, blood, tissues, and also perform the following important missions:

  1. Acceleration of blood coagulability at its various loss caused by bruises, injuries, damages. This function is engaged in neutrophils - a type of white blood cells produced in the bone marrow;
  2. Absorption of certain substances, moving them to the desired place of use. This function is transport and perform a number of enzymes (diastases, proteases, deoxyribonucleases, and others) contained in leukocytes;
  3. The ability to synthesize gamma globulin, proteins, phospholipids, glycogens, due to which leukocytes possess a high rate of RNA (ribonucleic acid) renewal. This function of white blood cells is called metabolic;
  4. The process of formation of new cells, the healing of tissues with various injuries. This is the regenerative function of leukocytes;
  5. The capture and poisoning of foreign bodies, the destruction of microbes and the formation of antibodies, antitumor and anthelmintic action, participation in the formation and maintenance of immunity is the most important and valuable protective function of all white blood cells.

These white blood cells are valued and characterized for their unique anti-virus and anti-bacterial actions, they serve as support and support for a healthy body.

Urinalysis: the rate of leukocytes in women

To determine the number of these cells and check the norm of their content in a woman's body, a procedure for passing urine analysis is performed. This is mainly due to its correct collection:

  • Do not use medications (activated carbon, acetylsalicylic acid) and vitamins, herbal tinctures and vegetables that can change the color of urine before the test is taken during the day;
  • having washed the genitals well using hygienic soap, gel and washing it thoroughly, wipe dry;
  • at the first urination in the morning, preferably immediately after sleep, without the first few and last drops;
  • use clean and dry glassware for collection or sterile container, purchased at the pharmacy kiosk;
  • if it is impossible to deliver the analysis immediately, keep it in the fridge, after consulting with the doctor, the laboratory technician.
With proper fulfillment of all requirements for the collection of urine, as well as the absence of inflammatory processes and diseases of the genital organs, the standard leukocyte count in women ranges from zero to six "in sight" and up to four thousand per 1 ml according to a detailed Nechiporenko analysis.

This indicates good health and unnecessary worrying.

Leukocytes in the urine of women: rate and abnormalities

The rate of white blood cells in the urine indicates the absence of bacteria, fungi, viruses, infections, and also serves as an indicator of the protection of the body against the appearance of cells of malignant tumors.

In women, because of the special anatomical structure - the opening of the vagina is located near the urethra - bacteria and inflammatory cells can move without obstruction, which leads to a change in the analysis and the appearance of abnormal leukocytes.

To decipher this analysis, it is necessary to know the quantitative indicators of the norm and deviations of the content of leukocytes in the composition of urine "in sight":

  • from 0 to 6, in a pinch, not exceeding 10 - the figure on the analysis indicates the patient's good health or a dubious result that needs to be repeated;
  • from 10 to 50 - is considered a minor deviation, but indicates a pathological process that should not occur in the urinary organs;
  • more than 50 cells - reports the presence of inflammation of the genitourinary system, requires close attention and determination of the disease;
  • A huge content of white blood cells is characterized by a strong inflammation, called pyuria or purulent urine, which requires immediate medical intervention.

The analysis itself pays attention to other indicators of the quantitative content of bacteria, erythrocytes, epithelial cells and only after that a medical conclusion is made.

The rate of leukocytes in women by age: table

Many factors associated with hormonal background, affect the number of leukocytes in the body of women. This may be the period of ovulation, pregnancy, time before the menstrual cycle. These white blood cells are divided into six types according to their structure and form:

  1. Neutrophils, which in turn are divided into:
  • stabbed;
  • young;
  • myelocytes;
  • segmented.
  1. Lymphocytes;
  2. Monocytes;
  3. Eosinophils;
  4. Basophils;
  5. Plasma cells.

In the female body, with age, the percentage content of these cells changes, so the necessary data on their normal variation are shown in the table below:

According to the table it is clear that the established rate of leukocytes in women changes with age until reaching the age of twenty-one, and then remains unchanged throughout later life.

What is the rate of leukocytes in the urine of pregnant women?

Every woman who is preparing to become a mother, during the entire pregnancy passes a lot of different tests. Not an exception and urine analysis. It helps to identify violations in the urogenital system and the unwanted presence of uninvited infections, bacteria and viruses, causing the onset of various inflammatory processes in a woman's body.

Immunity of a pregnant woman is reduced for proper development of the fetus, and, consequently, the number of white blood cells varies and increases.

This change is natural and should not cause much concern if the level does not exceed 10-15 units, but an increase may be the beginning of the development of diseases such as pyelonephritis, cystitis, nephritis, urethritis, or indicate the presence of stones in the urinary system.

All disturbing indications in the analysis of urine of pregnant women lead to the additional delivery of these analyzes again. Only then can a medical conclusion be made correctly.

Causes of increased leukocytes in the urine of women

The number of leukocytes in the urine of women can vary from many causes. It may be:

  • increased physical activity;
  • intake of beneficial vitamin and minerals from food;
  • emotional stress;
  • overheating and overcooling of the body;
  • on time or before the menstruation period;
  • during pregnancy;
  • with ovulation;
  • depending on the time of day.

But a strong increase in these cells in the body (more than 10 units) in a repeated urine analysis may indicate the development of various pathologies. Increased white blood cell counts lead to diseases such as leukocyturia, which has three degrees — severe, moderate, and minor — depending on the number of these cells in the urine analysis.

Consultation with a physician and correct diagnosis can reveal kidney and urinary system diseases in women, such as:

  • urethritis (inflammation of the urinary canal);
  • cystitis (bladder disease);
  • nephrosis (dystrophic kidney damage);
  • pyelitis (inflammation of the renal pelvis);
  • pyelonephritis (pathological processes in the kidneys);
  • the formation of kidney stones, ureter;
  • violation of exchange processes.

With a huge increase in leukocytes, there is also the possibility of the emergence of such dangerous diseases as:

  • vaginitis (inflammation of the vulva);
  • injuries;
  • oncological diseases;
  • vulvovaginitis (inflammation of the mucous membrane of the vulva and vagina);
  • venereal diseases.

Timely detection of exceeding the normal white blood cell count using urine tests can help prevent further development of many diseases and prescribe the correct treatment.

How to normalize the level of leukocytes contained in the urine of women

To normalize a high degree of leukocyte count in the urine of women is possible only after the correct diagnosis of the disease.

Taking medications helps the body fight the disease, and the increased number of these cells will decrease over time.

Also, with the correct definition of certain diseases, there are ways of non-traditional and non-drug treatment. In the case of an increase in blood cell data in the urine with such common and known diseases as cystitis, pyelonephritis and other inflammations of the urinary and renal systems - use:

  • boiled and boiled corn stigmas;
  • diet, the basis of which is to reduce the use of water and salt;
  • tincture of flaxseed, hop cones, nettle;
  • sea buckthorn berries;
  • bearberry leaves;
  • salad or juice from flowers or leaves of nasturtium.

Any means are good for treatment, but only after a mandatory consultation with a doctor, since even infusions and decoctions of herbs can increase the course of inflammatory processes in a woman's body, which will lead to an even greater increase in the level of white blood cells.
