The drug Phenibut belongs to the group of nootropic drugs with a moderate tranquilizing effect.

Composition and release form

Phenibut is available in tablet form, in one blister of 10 pieces. Comes in a cardboard box along with instructions.

One tablet contains 250 mg of phenibut - the active substance and auxiliary components:

• lactose;
• potato starch;
• stearin calcium.

• children and adolescents up to 18 years old - 100 mg of medication maximum three times a day;
• from 18 years old - 250 mg of Phenibut three times a day.

With urgent need, a specialist can increase the dosage: for adolescents up to 18 years old - 250 mg each, for patients 18 years and older - 500 mg each.

In the treatment of withdrawal from alcoholism, the regimen will be as follows:

• daily intake is 250-500 mg three times a day;
• one-time nightly medication - 750 mg.

For any vestibular disorder, 250 mg of Phenibut is taken three times a day for two weeks. In order to prevent you can drink 250-500 mg of the drug for 2 hours before the first signs of an attack.

The side effects of taking this remedy are minimal, since Phenibut is well tolerated, but they are still present:

• feeling nauseous;
• headaches;

• allergic to the skin in the form of rash and itching.

Noofen

The active active ingredient is the same as Phenibut. Noofen has differences:

1. Produced in Latvia.
2. Release form: tablets, capsules, powder.
3. Can be used for treatment at any age.
4. It has better tolerability and fewer side effects.

Unlike Noofil, Phenibut can be used only for children over 8 years old. Many patients after taking it complain of serious side effects from the gastrointestinal tract. But the main difference in cost is that the Latvian drug costs almost twice as much as its Russian counterpart. When choosing a drug, it is advisable to focus on the recommendations of the attending physician.

Anvifen

The main advantage of Avifen is that the product is presented in pharmacies in different dosages, which makes it possible to more flexibly regulate the course of taking the medicine.

Anvifen is also more popular among parents, due to the fact that the therapeutic property of this drug acts more gently on the child's psyche, and the risk of side effects is also minimized.

Atarax

There are several differences between these drugs. For example, the main advantage of Atarax is that it does not cause irritation of the gastric mucosa, but this medication does not help with insomnia.

And in most cases, these two drugs are prescribed together, because Phenibut allows you to concentrate, improve memory, but Atarax helps in the presence of dermatological diseases, accompanied by itching.

Adaptol

But between Adaptol and Phenibut a lot more differences, because Adaptol is a tranquilizer that affects the brain, stimulating the production of serotonin. In this case, the tool does not have a hypnotic effect and it can be applied during the day if there are such indications:

• stress;
• neurosis

Adaptol acts much softer than Finibut, it can be used even in the presence of gastrointestinal diseases. There are only three contraindications: component intolerance, pregnancy and lactation.

It is impossible to unequivocally answer the question which of the medicines is better, since these two drugs belong to different pharmacological groups, and their effect on the body is different.

For example, with strong neurological disorders, many doctors recommend the simultaneous administration of Adaptol and Phenibut: they will strengthen each other’s effects, which will ensure the maximum therapeutic effect.

It is undesirable to decide which medication is better, it should be prescribed by a doctor, taking into account such moments:

1. The age of the patient. For example, both drugs are suitable for adults, but when treating children, it is better to choose Phenibut.
2. The presence of somatic diseases, since in diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, preference should be given to Adaptol.
