How to use
Depending on the disease to be treated, licorice syrup is taken in different ways. Dosage for adults and children also varies.
The drug is prescribed:
- with bronchitis;
- asthma;
- to protect the body from infections;
- if a tumor is suspected.
Adults take 5 milliliters of the drug, diluted in 100 grams of tea or warm boiled water. Reception continues for 7 days 3 times a day. In the case of a complicated course of the disease, the doctor will prescribe an individual course of treatment.
For children under 2 years of age, the use of the drug is contraindicated. But it can be used according to indications:
- If the doctor has not prescribed another dosage, then for children under 2 years old, 2 drops of syrup are diluted in a teaspoon of water and given to drink. Treatment is carried out 3 times a day during the week.
- From 2 to 12 years old, 2.5 milliliters are diluted in 50 milliliters of tea or warm water. Take 7 days, 3 times a day.
- Children from 12 years old are prescribed treatment as adults: a teaspoonful of syrup, diluted in 100 milliliters of water 3 times a day for a week.

Contraindications
Despite the use of this plant, the syrup has contraindications. It should not be used for treatment if the following conditions exist:
- pregnancy;
- bleeding disorders;
- diabetes - the syrup contains a sugar solution that will cause an aggressive reaction;
- liver disease;
- renal failure;
- hypokalemia;
- component allergy;
- heart rhythm disorder;
- hypertension.
Also, substances that are part of, can cause heart pain, headache, swelling and high blood pressure. Drug interaction
The use of syrup with the following groups of drugs is contraindicated.
- The use of licorice root is not recommended simultaneously with thiazide diuretics because of the risk of hypokalemia.
- At the same time taking syrup and corticosteroids will increase the time of removal of cortisone.
If during the use of the drug symptoms of hypokalemia appear: chest pain or a change in the rhythm of heart contractions, stop taking it and consult a doctor.
