Ciprofloxacin or Levofloxacin - which is better?

If Ciprofloxacin began to cause side effects or did not work for any other reason, the doctor may prescribe an analog. The most famous drug - Levofloxacin, what are their differences?

It is worth noting that in many ways Levofloxacin is better. Its main difference in the active component is levofloxacin. The antibacterial effect of the drug is more pronounced than that of Ciprofloxacin. Also, the drug retains its activity even against gram-negative bacteria.

The difference is also in the concentrate of the active active ingredient: Ciprofloxacin concentration is an order of magnitude lower, and therefore it is most often used as a means for additional therapy, but Levofloxacin is the main treatment.

Both drugs are well tolerated by the body, have good absorbability and can be successfully used even in serious diseases, such as tuberculosis. It does not matter and the time of eating - you can take drugs before and after meals.

The difference is in price: if the packaging of Ciprofloxacin tablets costs around 80-100 rubles, then Levofloxacin can be purchased for 250-280 rubles.

Both of these drugs are sold exclusively by prescription.
