Many tenants of apartment buildings very often face noise problems. This factor deprives the comfort of a sufficiently large number of people living in apartments with poor protection from extraneous sounds.

Extraneous sounds can penetrate into the houses from the street, as well as from neighbors, through adjacent partitions. To eliminate this problem, you need to make the walls of modern soundproofing materials.

Characteristics of modern soundproof materials

To date, noise insulation elements for premises are widely used in the construction or repair of any buildings and structures, especially for residential premises. Plasterboard plates

Decorative panels

This material is very modern, made exclusively from the fiber of coniferous trees. In addition, their surface has a decorative appearance, so there is no need to make additional finishing. Decorative panels usually equip the living space of a large area. As for the shortcomings, there are none, except for the high cost of the material.

Polyurethane sheets

Such high-quality sound insulation is used for finishing recording studios. Such plates have a standard length (one hundred and twenty centimeters), a width (sixty centimeters), and a thickness (fifteen millimeters). The positive characteristics are as follows:

  • simple installation;
  • small weight;
  • excellent sound insulation.

Of the negative characteristics can only highlight the cost.

Noise insulation membranes

Modern building material, having a thickness of three and a half centimeters.

This allows its use in combination with other noise protection elements. Due to the good flexibility of the membrane, it can be bent at any angle, this makes its installation fairly easy.

Despite the small thickness and flexibility, the material has a good density, which makes it an excellent means to protect against any sounds.

The disadvantage of this material is its high cost.

Corkboarding

It has a fairly beautiful appearance and is easy to install. Due to its subtlety, this material can be simply glued to the walls, as wallpaper. Noise quality is slightly lower than the above plates and panels.

Sandwich panels

These plates are assembled from two gypsum sheets between which fiberglass is laid. Of the benefits can be identified:

  • good protective properties;
  • easy installation

Of the minuses:

  • too much thickness, which is critical for rooms with a small area.

From the presented list of noise insulation materials you need to choose the most suitable. At the same time, it is not worthwhile to focus only on spending money, since cheap material can become poor, and sometimes even inadequately protected from noise. Therefore, you need to pay attention to the ease of installation, strength, decorative and protective properties of the material. Also, do not use thick-walled insulation in small rooms.

In no case can you use foam to obscure the room, as it is a heat insulator, which is well transmits any sounds.

Installation of sound insulation do it yourself

Wall decoration noise protection materials are usually carried out by specially trained craftsmen. However, to save a rather large amount of money, this procedure can be performed with your own hands. To do this, first of all, you need to analyze the production technology itself, which has the following form:

  1. First of all, for your own safety, turn off the electricity in the room. After that, close all existing holes in the walls of the pipes and outlets with mineral wool or another compactor. Then cover the holes with plaster-based mortar. Such a solution dries quickly, which makes it possible to continuously carry out the work process.
  2. Next, with the help of the construction level, it is necessary to vertically install the metal profile. Its installation should be made at a distance of not less than forty and not more than sixty centimeters from each other. In this case, the fastening of the metal profile should be free, that is, there should be a small gap between it and the wall, in which sound insulation will be placed.
  3. After installing the guide profile on the wall is laid fiberglass, mineral wool or other material. Fastening of such a layer is carried out by wide-hat anchors. Further, using assembly foam or putty, the joints are plastered. After installing the interlayer, you need to pay attention to the fastening of the profile, it must fit snugly to the compactor, otherwise you will receive vibration, which will further enhance the noise in the room. Next, on the already finished frame, gypsum boards are fastened, and they are mounted using self-tapping screws.
  4. The final stage of the installation of sound insulation is a finishing finish of already protected and insulated walls.

If the arrangement of the walls is done with decorative panels, then plasterboard tiles are not required. You also need to exclude the installation of profile guides, as the decorative coating is attached directly to the wall with a special glue. But if the plane of the wall is not exactly flat, there are significant level drops, then you must first make a batten, to which later you attach decorative panels.

As already mentioned, the most effective protection against noise is a combined insulation system. To implement such a system, it is necessary to use at least two different insulating materials. This method is very effective, although costly both in time and in finance.

When installing noise protection, you must ensure that the metal profile does not come into contact with the supporting structures and other metal or concrete elements. All possible contact points must be separated with a special protective tape. Fulfillment of this requirement will allow reducing vibration and penetration of extraneous sounds into the room.

If you properly sheathe the walls with soundproof modern material, you can enjoy peace and tranquility in a room where even the loudest sounds from urban transport or too restless neighbors cannot penetrate.

Soundproofing materials for suspended ceiling

For apartment buildings, the issue of ceiling noise insulation is as acute as with walls.

Currently, stretch ceilings have become a common type of finish. For the installation of such a decorative part of the room, you can use the following sound insulation materials:

  1. Fiberboard. They are about two centimeters thick. Good absorb sounds. Can only be used on flat concrete surfaces.
  2. Acoustic material. Microperforation absorbs noise perfectly. Mounted on a special adhesive spray, has a thickness of thirty millimeters.
  3. Gypsum sheets. Great for noise insulation stretch ceilings. Mainly used on wooden floors. Sheet thickness is about forty millimeters.
